Shoe Lust: Born Peony in Silver

Born Peony in Silver  $89 (Zappos)

When I think of shoes that are perfect for holiday parties, this is one that comes to mind.  The beautiful silver color is festive, yet doesn’t scream “holiday”.  The fact that they’re flats means that you can comfortably dance the night away.  And they’ll still be stylish when December has come and gone.

Shoe Lust: Tsubo Kiho

tsubo-kiho-whiteTsubo Kiho in White  $190

Could these be a modern version of the white go-go boots I’ve been craving?  I think so.  Tsubo’s are known for being very comfortable.  I love these in white, for a mod feel, but I could easily see myself wearing the brown or black version also.  My only concern is the the circumference of the shaft is only 14.5 inches, which would be painfully tight on my calves.  I could get them stretched, but there’s no guarantee that they could stretch enough to fit comfortably.  I’ll be keeping my eye on these.

Shoe Lust: Vivienne Westwood and Melissa Lady Dragon

Lady Dragon  $154

I absolutely love the color of these shoes.  And the bow.  And the fact that Zooey Deschanel wore them in her cotton ad.  But why, oh why are they made out of PVC?  I used to wear jelly shoes when I was a kid, and my feet would sweat like crazy.  So why would I spend $154 to relive that experience?  You better believe that the second these shoes are made in leather, I will snatch them up.  For now, I must keep searching for those perfect, non-plastic seafoam green pumps.

Shoe Lust: Ugg Classic Short

8835-14078-dUgg Classic Short in Black  $144 (Zappos)

I know that some people will want to immediately write me off for even considering Uggs.  And to be honest, I can’t stand the look of tall Uggs.  But lately, I can’t get my mind off short Uggs.  I think the shorter height helps reduce the “tree trunk” effect they can have on legs.  Paired with skinnies or a pair of leggings, I think that these can be casual cute.  But the main reason I want them: cold evenings.  These seems like they would be the coziest and warmest house slippers ever.  I’ve got to watch for a good sale though, because right now it’s hard to justify the price tag.

Shoe Lust: Sofft Oriole

Lately, I’ve really been wanting some navy pumps.  After seeing these on both Barking Dog Shoes and Low Fat Dressing, I’m really, really craving these shoes.  The details on the t-strap are gorgeous, and I love the color.  I’m not so sure about suede though, but I think with some weather-protectant spray, they’d be fine.  I’ll be watching for these to go on sale.

Shoe Lust: H. Riddlebarger Trees and Birds

H. Riddlebarger “Trees and Birds” Custom Art Shoes  $259

These are shoes that I will probably never buy, but I can’t help but admire how gorgeous they are.  If I was lucky enough to own them, I would probably put them on display on a shelf in my house.  They truly are a work of art.  This particular pair is one of a kind, hand drawn by an Ashland artist, Halle Riddlebarger.  They take the concept of statement shoes to a whole different level.

Shoe Lust: Tsubo Acrea

pl587343-00p01v01Tsubo Acrea in Brown  $110 (Piperlime)

I’ve loved Sal‘s Tsubo Acreas for awhile, but I was always a bit scared of the heel height.  Then, one of the moms at the school I work at wore a pair last week, and seeing them in person made it click.  The heel is a bit higher than I’m used to, but it’s not that bad.  Plus, everyone that I’ve talked to who’ve worn them says that they’re surprisingly comfortable.  So I think that these might be the solution to my lack of brown pumps.  I’ve just got to watch for a good sale.

Shoe Lust: Happy Feet T-Straps in Waverly

7278_1Happy Feet T-Straps in Waverly  $84.99 on Modcloth

These lovely Pink Studio flats have caught my eye and won’t let go.  I love the sweet print and the green color.  The t-strap detail adds an extra special touch.  I could see myself wearing these a ton, with jeans, skirts, etc.  And yes, I realize that these are patterned Pink Studio flats again, but I’m finding that I really like their stuff.
