Etsy Love: Rainy days

(Note: Because my new job is leaving me with less free time than I had before, I’m cutting back outfit posts to four times a week, Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri.  Etsy Love will be on Wednesday mornings.)

As I’m writing this post, there is a lovely spring shower going on right outside my window.  Sometimes rainy days are just so calming.  I love sitting in my bed and reading a book with the window cracked open on days like this.  This is a set of items I found on Etsy inspired by days like this.

Daily Outfit: Plueys!

First, I just want to say thank you so much for all the entries into the scarf giveaway and the plethora of comments I’ve been receiving lately!  I appreciate each and every one!  Every time I see that there’s a new comment on a post, it makes my day.  So thank you to my wonderful readers, old and new!  Your comments are so awesome, I’m afraid you’re going to give me a big ego.

Now to the outfit.  Way back in April, I posted about how I was itching to get a pair of wellies.  Soon after that post, I found out about Plueys, an online purveyor of some awesomely stylish rainboots, and entered a contest they were hosting on Facebook.  A few weeks later, I found out that I had won a pair of rainboots, and it began raining like crazy.  But then when I got the package in the mail, we suddenly hit a dry spell, with only occasional showers, not enough to warrant wearing a pair of wellingtons.  Recently, it’s finally started raining again, and yesterday  it poured on and off most of the day.  So, say hello to my beautiful argyle Plueys!

I felt so awesome wearing these today.  Everyone else I saw today had sandals and wet feet, while I stayed stylish and dry.  You might notice that these pictures are a bit hazy.  That’s from the insane humidity.  I tried to wipe off the camera lens to keep it from fogging, but there’s only so much you can do.

Kim’s new July inspiration calendar called for a little black dress and fun shoes, so I figured this would fit the bill perfectly.  Nothing is more fun than jumping in rain puddles while wearing magenta leggings and argyle wellies!

I carried a separate pair of shoes to put on when I got indoors.  I’m guessing that this is wellie etiquette, but I have a question for other wellie wearers out there:  where do you put your rainboots when you get indoors?  When I’m at home, I keep them by the front door.  At work, I kept them at my desk.  But when I went to the grocery store, I thought it would be odd to carry them around, so I just left them on.  What do you do?

What I'm lovin': Wellies

Today, it was rainy and blah.  This type of weather usually makes me want to stay inside all day.  But I think if I had a nice pair of Wellington boots, a pretty umbrella and a stylish raincoat like the lovely ladies of academichic have in these three posts, I would be ready to take on the rain and jump in every puddle.  With that in mind, here’s a selection of wellies that I’ve found lately:
