“They smiled at the good”

Thank you for the kind words yesterday.  I’m feeling a bit better.  I know that things will work out before too long, I just need to keep positive.

I wore this outfit for another nice, relaxing Sunday.  I caught up on things around the house, deep conditioned my hair, gave myself a mani/pedi and took a nice afternoon nap.  I think taking some time for myself every weekend is starting to become my therapy – it’s so nice to relax and not feel rushed and catch up on everything.

I was in the mood to be both girly and comfortable on Sunday.  The weather was a little bit warmer, so I was able to get by with my lovely new Anthropologie floral blouse and my blue cotton cardigan to add a little bit of warmth.  I wanted something that would let my beautiful new necklace shine.

I had e-mailed my boyfriend a wishlist of items I liked on Etsy for my birthday, and after picking out what he got me, he forwarded it along to his mom.  She got me this gorgeous Sakura branch necklace from Jorgensen Studio that I’ve been eyeing for months.  I aboslutely love it, and it’s even more beautiful in person.

What rituals do you have when you take time for yourself?

  1. I love that blouse with the cardi!

I like to take time to read a book with a cup of tea or to do my nails and watch a movie or a few episodes of a show that I like on tv. The best is when I do one of those things after taking a bubble bath with a glass of wine.

  2. That necklace is beautiful. I will not klick through to the shop though, because Etsy and its ilk are death for my budget. When I relax I like to craft, I do science as my work and I need the irrationality of crafting to balance out the rationality of that.

  3. Oh Etsy love!

A mud masque, a glass of wine, and either a book or playing board or video games with my husband is a sure-fire feel-good therapy for me.

Add some dog belly scratching in there, and it’s utter perfection.

  4. I’m glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better! It’s hard to be down sometimes but then it’s nice when you start to feel on the upswing. I still love the cardi – the color is perfect.

If I really want to relax I’ll most likely grab a glass of wine and a book or a movie. Just time for me to think about something completely different.

  5. Your necklace is lovely and suits you very well.
Sorry to hear about you being stressed. Are there any chance of your temp job leading to something permanent? Sometimes schools or other workplaces will contact each other about potential candidates for job openings. That is how I got my dream job 3 and a half year ago.
