After going for two winters with not as many handknits as I would like to have, this year I want to have a very specific plan for my knitting. One of my New Year’s Resolutions for this year is to knit these six patterns, all of which will fill gaps in my wardrobe. This may be a bit ambitious, but I think it’s manageable:
- The Cozy V-neck Pullover from Fitted Knits: 25 Projects for the Fashionable Knitter
– I’d like to knit this one in a cozy cashmere blend, probably charcoal grey. I’ll alter the pattern a bit so there’s less ribbing and more shaping.
The Noyaux Sweater Dress - I’ve been wanting a sweater dress so badly this year, but it’s so hard to find store-bought ones that fit curvy figures. If I make one myself, in a cozy merino blend, I can make it work to fit my body.
Placed Cable Aran Sweater, from Interweave Knits. Because I’d really love to have a cowl neck sweater. I’ll probably knit this in a fine, soft merino blend.
Printed Silk Cardigan from Interweave Knits. I need a new white summer cardigan, and this knit in a silk/cotton blend would be absolutely divine.
Provincal Waistcoat, from Interweave Knits. Because I’d love to have another warm sweater-vest to layer. I’d probably make this in merino.
Knee Socks with Kaffe Fassett yarn. Because I just got some of this yarn at a garage sale, and because I love knee socks.

Holy crap, Diana. After reading this post, I went through some of your older posts that were devoted to your knitting. You’re damn good! I’m seriously impressed, and now I wish I lived closer to you so I could come over for a cup of coffee and “borrow” your sweaters.
What a fabulous resolution! I am seriously loving allll of these patterns, especially the sweaterdress. I’m still chugging along on a pair of socks that is taking me FOREVER, but I can only hope that someday I’ll make it to sweater-status
these are gorgeous!
Oh, I love them all. Can’t wait to see your knitting.
So Cute! I love that sweaterdress! I knit a little but haven’t moved beyond hats and scarves. I aspire to sweaters.
I am not very skilled at knitting, so I am immensely impressed by your choice of projects here!
Thanks for reminding me about the Placed Cable Aran sweater. I’ve been looking for a cowl pattern, too, and that’s a great one!
wow, that is ambitious! i look forward to seeing your outfit posts with your creations.
Love your to-knit list! I’ve had the Printed Silk Cardigan in my queue for forever – it’s a cute pattern, but I always pass it over for some reason.
The Provincial Waistcoat is ADORABLE, too! That’s going straight to the Ravelry queue
