Daily Outfit: Finding My Color

Lots of people spend a good amount of time (and sometimes, money) trying to figure out what colors are the most flattering on them.  But sometimes, we just stumble upon it.  I’ve mentioned before that I like how I look in blue, so I’ve acquired a lot of shades of this color over time.  Just recently, I’ve discovered a color that works even better for me.  I’m not sure exactly what it’s called, but it’s in-between blue and green, almost like teal with a little extra green added.  I found a top in this color while thrifting recently, and it’s become one of my favorites.  Then, while suit shopping at Nordstrom’s, I found the most gorgeous top I have ever owned.  And let me say, I am in love.

I love everything about this top: the amazing color, the delicious drape, the length of the sleeves, the elastic band at the bottom.  And it was even on sale!  This top is amazingly versatile.  It works equally well worn over pants as it does tucked into skirts.  This is going to be my interview blouse, tucked into a smart black pencil skirt, with a black pinstripe blazer worn over it.  The top can also be stretched to tunic length, which isn’t very flattering on my body type, but could look awesome on someone who’s super-skinny.

And did you notice the shoes I’m wearing up there?  I lamented a few weeks ago that I had fallen in love with the discontinued Dansko Novalee and was unable to find a pair in my size anywhere.  Last week, Ebay came to my rescue, and I found a pair in the size and color that I wanted!  They are so amazingly comfortable.  The footbed provides a lot of support, even with that tall wedge.  The straps are nice and soft, so I haven’t been getting blisters. I think I’m going to get more shoes in this Dansko family, as I adore both these and my Dansko Neves

Just a reminder, I’ve got a contest going on right now for a gorgeous Tolani scarf from Chickdowntown, so go check it out if you haven’t entered yet.
