What I'm lovin': Wists

Picture 1

Any of my lovely readers out there use Wists?  If not, you should absolutely try it.  Wists allow you to save any image on a website, add lots of tags to it,  and keeps it in a catalog with other images you’ve wisted.

I love Wists because it lets me keep both visual inspiration and shopping lists/ideas in one place.  Sometimes, I wist something simply for the pure visual beauty of it.  Most of the time, I wist items because I would love to buy them or something like them in the future.  I wist most of my Etsy favorites so that even if the listing gets taken down, I’ll have a record of something I was attracted to.

I also find Wists very useful when I’m browsing online stores.  I usually won’t buy an item the first time I see it online, but I will wist it.  Then, when I’m ready to buy, I can find it on my Wists and click the link to get back to it.

The tagging aspect is definitely the most useful part.  I tend to tag things by broad categories (dress, jewerly, shoes), narrower categories (a-line, necklace, mary_janes), materials (cotton, silver, leather), color (floral, purple, red) and brand (Anthropologie, Etsy, Fluevog).  Sometimes I add more tags besides these.  This way, when I’m ready to buy a pair of red mary janes, I can look up all items with those tags and shop!

Give Wists a try – you won’t regret it! (And if you already Wist and don’t mind sharing, please add me as a friend :)

  1. Never heard of it, but it sounds like a perfect place for a compulsive list maker such as myself :) So cool! Thanks for the tip.

  2. Me neither – sounds like fun. I have images scattered all over the place and I know I’m going to have a melt-down one of these days!
