Daily Outfit: Putting it Together

I’m begining to feel like my wardrobe is finally clicking.  It’s still taking me awhile to get dressed in the morning, but each time I consider something, I think about how I feel wearing it.  For example, I have some items that fit fantastically, but are in fabrics that I don’t like.  I’m trying to cultivate a wardrobe of pieces that both look and feel fantastic, things that make me feel beautiful and confident all day long.  And I think that’s what I worked out with this outfit.

I wore this dress by itself when going out to a party, but I’d been having trouble figuring out a way that I could wear it to work.  Finally, it clicked today.  I was worried at first that this would be too warm, but the cardigan is cotton and the dress is viscose, so I was perfectly comfortable in the office and not too warm outside.  I wanted to wear something that would easily transition from work to going out for dinner, and this fit the bill perfectly.

I’ve been looking for a brown woven belt for awhile now.  I’d seen some new in the mall, but I was positive that I could find one used for cheaper, since this is something that frequently comes into style.  I found this perfect one while thrifting last week, for all of $2.

I’m glad to be breaking out my Dansko Neves again too.  I had been avoiding them for awhile, because they gave me blisters the last time I wore them.  This time I was prepared with band-aids, and they were just fine.  In fact, I’m considering purchasing a second pair of Dansko wedges.  One can never have too many shoes, right?

Also, my awesome mom took these pictures for me.  Thanks mom!

  1. That color blue is amazing on you! Also, love the ruching at the bust. You’re right – all of our clothes should be comfortable as well as fabulous. I’m all for axing anything that doesn’t do both those things for you. XOXO, MissAmy
