Normally, I find school girl styles either too juvenile, too Lolita-esque, or both. With this outfit though, I think I found a way to make it work without looking like a fourteen year old.

The mary-janes and the dress worn as a jumper are decidely school-girl, but the button-down worn underneath makes it a little more refined. Add a Euro-chic bag with a scarf, some pink accents and a red belt, and the outfit becomes polished enough for a casual day at the office.

Black, white and gray with strong pops of color is definitely one of my go-to style formulas. It always works.

You look great! I love the scarf tied to the purse. Tres cute (but not in a fourteen-year-old kind of way!).
Wow! What a great take on schoolgirl chic. I’m with you, these looks are usually too dowdy or too sexy for my taste … but you took the best aspects of school uniforms and added your own fab flair. Well done, lady!
I’m feeling some inspiration coming from this outfit! You look great.
Love the touches of red!
I absolutely love that dress– great shoes, too

No school girl look there. You look wonderful.
This is just adorable! I don’t mean little-kid adorable, but very cute and chic. I *love* the collared-shirt worn under the dress detail!
Please excuse the horrific typing in my above post!
I LOVE thgis look! It is not schoolgirlish (is that a word lol) at all with the button down inder. I also like hoe the shirt sleeves are peeking out from the cap sleeve of the dress. I try to avoid cap sleeves due to arm issues, but they are so popular now that it is hard to do. I will definatley be using this idea!
BTW, came across your blog last week. You are so sweet and I love your style! Take care.
