Because if it is, I think I’ve converted.

I’ve pined away at these yellow Fluevog Malibrans for months. When I first saw them on Fluevog’s website, I was in love. When planning a trip to New York City, a pilgramage to the Fluevog store there was high on my priorities.
And yet, I became fearful and anxious. How can I spend over $200 on a pair of shoes? I don’t own a single item of clothing that expensive. How can I justify that much money when I’m living off student loans?
Still, I visited the store and tried them on. They were even more gorgeous in person and fit like a glove. I hated leaving the store without them.
For months afterwards I would google “Fluevog Malibrans” everyday, hoping to find them on sale. In December, I finally spotted a great sale on Village Shoes, but I had so badly overspent my loan for that semester that I didn’t have enough money to get them. I sadly watched as they went back to full price. I was saddened again when they weren’t included in Fluevog’s Buy Better, Buy Less sale.

In January, I wrote up a budget, got a new student loan and suddenly had the possibility of actually purchasing these shoes again. Amazingly, they went on sale on Village Shoes again and they still had my size. I knew it would push my budget for the month (and eventually break it), but I didn’t hesitate. I immediately bought them, and I don’t regret it.
I knew that these were the shoes I wanted. I even had dreams about them. I had tried to buy two other pairs of pumps recently, but I just wasn’t happy with them. And each time I returned a pair of shoes, I would ask myself why I wasn’t just buying the shoes I really wanted.
But now they are mine and I love them. And I see many, many more Fluevogs to come.

Rule # 1: If you try something on and you absolutely love it, it looks amazing on you and it fits perfectly, buy it. Don’t worry about the price, just buy it.
Rule #2: If you know you absoutely love something, don’t waste time buying other things that you sorta love. Buy what you really love.

Hi and welcome! I'm Diana, and this is my blog, Smiles Go With Everything. As the title suggests, I write about a little bit of everything, but the majority of my focus is on style and sustainability and how the two interconnect. In between are sprinklings of baking, gardening, crafting, and whatever I feel like sharing.

HURRAH! And you bet your life Fluevog is a religion. Welcome to the cult.
Your shoes are so eye-catching – love them!
Those shoes were just meant to be yours! ^__^
I think they’re really worth it. The color is just gorgeous … particularly with the grays. I wish more people around here dressed in colors like this!
Jesus these shoes are so adorable! I’ve been looking for the perfect mary jane shoes for ever now. I love the straps, the heal and the mustard color. I want them too now. Thanks for the tip!
Hey! Thanks for shopping with us! You look gorgeous in your new Fluevog’s! What a great color on you. Love the blog.

I am presently pining over these very same shoes! I bookmarked the link and I look at them almost everyday; so for an atheist this is as close to religion as it gets. I am totally going to buy them on my trip to Vancouver in the Spring. Can’t wait! These pictures just make me want them more!
My my my…. they look FABULOUS! I’m feeling an itch to buy…

I have these shoes. I bought them in the NYC store. I went into the store on a Monday. I walked up to the shoes and the sales assistant said “these shoes are great for walking around the city in”.y I said “thats exactl what I need”. I turned John Flue svog was standing in the store. It was the greatest shoe shopping experience.
